RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-TEMPERATURE BITUMINOUS MIXES MANUFACTURED BY FOAMING BITUMEN AND WASTE PLASTICS


The construction sector has a great impact due to the large volumes of materials it manages. It is also one of the most energy-intensive sectors, particularly in the manufacture of bituminous mixtures for road construction, making it a fundamental pillar on the road to a circular and sustainable economy.
The overall objective of this research is to develop low temperature road asphalt mixes with bitumens modified with plastic waste.
In this research, we plan to implement the use of waste plastics for the manufacture of lower temperature road asphalt mixes using the foaming technique of waste plastic modified bitumen.
